Amazon.com is a huge money pit for a lot of people. It's easy to spend $50.00, $100.00 or $200.00 per month buying "stuff" if you're not careful. Here's how I keep spending under control:
1. Can you buy the item at a garage sale or thrift store? Don't buy common household items on Amazon. Most of the time you can find them cheaper at Goodwill, garage sales or even at Walmart.
2. Wait a month before buying. If I find something I want on Amazon, I put the item in my "Cart" and then move it into the "Save for Later" section. If you forget about the item, you probably don't need it. If you find yourself saying, "I could really use that item right now!" very often, it might be worth buying.
